The first step in creating a professional portfolio requires you to Setup an account using a username and password so you will be able to log in and manage your portfolio. The username you use to register your account will be used to access your portfolio, for example:

http://www.bleidu.com/username

This is a very simple process to create easy access to your new portfolio website quickly. (Most networking site use a similar format such as Twitter and MySpace to identify your pages). You can create a link on your MySpace page for people to access your portfolio easily. You can create business cards, t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc with your new portfolio web address to promote your work. Be sure to include it on your resume and anything else that will help you land a job (if you are trying to get one). It is one step closer to owning an impressive portfolio for the world to see.

Set Up

After the initial process of registration and using a unique username to identify your portfolio site, it is time to get into developing the content of your website portfolio. A Bleidu portfolio consists of 5 main structural pages; the home page, about, gallery, contact and your resume. The home page and contact page has already been created. The home page contains a brief introduction to what a Bleidu.com portfolio is and how it being used. The contact page contains a brief E-mail contact form that will send messages instantly to your email you registered with as visitors come to your website. The About page is a section where you can write a brief statement about who you are and show the kind of personality you have.

The resume section is exactly that, a resume. Describe your education, work history, experience, awards, accomplishments, etc. the same way you´ve already done with your current resume. (You can copy and paste your information, there are no limitations.)

The real meat of the portfolio is the gallery section. Bleidu.com allows you to create multiple portfolio galleries that show different subjects or media in an organized manner. All you need to do is optimize all of your images, resize the dimensions (in pixels) to reduce the file size, and adjust the quality level to preserves the clarity of pixels for fastest viewing in the web browser. (I would not exceed 600 pixels in width or height, see 600px x 600px example).

The uploading process is very simple. You have to first create a gallery with a name and description. When you are uploading an image, you will need to select one of your galleries you´ve already created. After you have created your gallery and uploaded several images, you will be able to update, delete or rename the title and description of both your gallery and images within the login account.
